YOUTUBE CHALLENGE

During our marketing course, our professor engaged us in a unique project that involved creating two promotional videos—one lasting 6 seconds and the other 15 seconds—for a YouTube challenge in collaboration with the Susan G. Komen Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to breast cancer research, education, advocacy, and support services.

The primary objective was to sponsor their special edition Christmas panettone. The innovative twist was that a portion of the proceeds from each panettone sold would be donated to support the battle against breast cancer.

The 6-second video demanded precision and creativity to convey the message effectively within a short time frame, while the 15-second video allowed for a slightly more elaborate narrative.

The collaboration with the Susan G. Komen Foundation added a meaningful dimension to the project, as we were not just promoting a product but contributing to a noble cause. The idea of linking a festive treat like the Christmas panettone to a charitable cause resonated well with the spirit of giving during the holiday season.

As students, this project not only honed our marketing skills but also instilled a sense of responsibility and purpose in our work. It was a gratifying experience to know that our efforts contributed to a cause as significant as the fight against breast cancer. This collaboration exemplified the potential of marketing to go beyond mere promotion and make a positive impact on society.

In the end, the experience of creating these videos for the YouTube challenge not only elevated our marketing skills but also provided a platform to appreciate the value of effective teamwork—a skill crucial not only in academia but also in the professional world. The project became a testament to the idea that when a team works cohesively, the result is not just a product but a synergistic creation that reflects the combined efforts and strengths of each team member.
